Licensing & Disclosures

Insurance is a regulated industry, and trust depends on knowing exactly who you're dealing with. Here's what you should know.

Status: Draft, pending compliance review.

Version: 2026-04-27-01 · Last updated: 2026-04-27

The licensed individual

All insurance business conducted under the CrossGuard name is written by Vincent Oriolo, an independently licensed life and health insurance broker. CrossGuard Private Benefits Advisory is the trade name (DBA) under which Vincent operates.

  • National Producer Number (NPN): 20208084
  • Resident state license: New Jersey — License #3001768541
  • Lines of authority: Life, Accident & Health (or equivalent terminology used in the resident state). I am not authorized to advise on or sell variable annuities or other securities-regulated annuity products.

Currently licensed states

Vincent is licensed to write insurance in the following 22 states. Each links to a state-specific page with the local insurance department, marketplace notes, and license-verification path.

The list above is the canonical record. It auto-renders from a single configuration file maintained by Vincent — adding or removing a state is a one-line update that propagates across the footer disclaimer, the contact form's state dropdown, this page, and the state-specific landing pages automatically.

How to verify a license

You can independently verify Vincent's producer license through any of the following:

  • NAIC National Producer Database — search by name or NPN at nipr.com (the National Insurance Producer Registry, the official NAIC system).
  • Your state's Department of Insurance — every state insurance department maintains a public licensee lookup. Search by name or license number.
  • Email [email protected] or call (551) 455-4059 for license numbers.

Carrier appointments and relationships

Vincent is appointed with multiple insurance carriers across the product lines listed at Services. Specific carrier names are discussed during the consultation rather than published on the website, because the appropriate carrier for a given recommendation depends on the client's situation, state, and needs.

As an independent producer, Vincent is paid commissions by issuing carriers when policies are placed. Commission structures vary by carrier and product. Vincent's recommendation process is to identify the policy and carrier that fits the client's situation — not to maximize commission.

Not licensed in your state?

Reach out anyway. The contact form will route a "licensing request" through the system, and I'll follow up if and when I can pursue licensing in your state. I do not solicit business or write policies in states where I am not licensed.

What I do not provide

I am licensed to advise on and sell life, accident, and health insurance products (and fixed and fixed indexed annuities, where state regulation classifies them under those lines). I do not provide:

  • Tax advice — consult a qualified tax professional.
  • Legal advice — consult a qualified attorney.
  • Investment advice or securities recommendations — I am not a registered investment advisor and do not hold securities licenses (Series 6, 7, 65, 66, etc.). I do not advise on or sell variable annuities, mutual funds, or other securities products.
  • Medicare-specific products (Supplement, Advantage, Part D, Medigap). The 65+ touchpoint on my Health Insurance page is a private conversation about your broader insurance picture, not Medicare marketing.

Insurance product guarantees

Insurance product guarantees are backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance carrier. They are not guaranteed by Vincent Oriolo, by CrossGuard Private Benefits Advisory, by any IMO or FMO Vincent is appointed through, or by any government agency.

Most states maintain a state guaranty association that may provide a defined level of consumer protection if a carrier becomes insolvent. Coverage limits and conditions vary by state. State guaranty associations are not a substitute for selecting financially strong carriers.

Complaint resolution

If you have a complaint about Vincent's conduct or a recommendation, please first contact me directly at [email protected] so I can address it.

You also have the right at any time to file a complaint with the insurance department of your state. State insurance departments handle producer complaints, regulatory inquiries, and consumer protection matters.

Anti-rebating and anti-fraud

Insurance regulations in most states prohibit producers from offering rebates, gifts, or other inducements to purchase a specific policy. Producers and applicants are also legally required to provide accurate information on insurance applications. I follow these rules without exception.

[REVIEW: confirm anti-rebating language with counsel; some states have specific required wording]

Updates

The licensed states list, license numbers, and carrier appointments may change. The version and "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflect the current state.
